Summer Acting Course

Summer Course Structure

This is designed as an introduction for students who may be interested in theatre as an eventual career, or simply wish to enjoy themselves learning more about the world of drama.

It gives you a first insight into the acting industry as well as your own strengths and weaknesses. It also gives you an indication of what you might expect from a full-time training programme.

The course has the same three main subjects covered in the full-time acting courses. The course also includes theatre visits as well as lectures and seminars from visiting directors, actors and teachers.

All Summer Course students take part in a production, rehearsing throughout the four weeks for a performance on the final day. You learn the skills to create a character and a strong performance, in the same rehearsal process as used by professional actors.

The course attracts applicants from diverse nationalities and cultures, so you can expect a rich and interesting experience. Students must be eighteen years or older when they begin the course. The teachers and directors are the same as those who work throughout the year at Drama Studio London, with the same professional aims and standards.

At the end of the course you will receive the Drama Studio London Summer Acting Diploma and a one-to-one tutorial with the Principal to discuss your professional potential and development.
