There are many opportunities for the profession to see all of our graduates in performance.
The students on each of the graduating years have an opportunity to showcase their talent and training at lunchtime performances at the Criterion Theatre in the West End. There is one showcase for each year. We invite industry professionals and encourage them to follow any students they might be interested in when they perform in the Ensemble and final Graduation Productions.
In their final term students from both courses join together in a short “Open Space” Ensemble production performed in an appropriate Central London venue to which members of the profession are invited. Click here for the digital invitation.
The Graduation Productions take place at the New Diorama Theatre in Camden and the Tristran Bates Theatre in Soho. In these shows the graduates from both courses are cast together and each play has 4 performances. We open these shows up to all the industry as well as parents and friends who have stood by our students during their demanding studies. Click here for the digital booklet of shows.
Besides these productions, the industry has several opportunities to see students’ work. Every student will take part in a small cast film which is put on our website as well as having the chance to record an audio showreel which they take with them after graduation.
Drama Studio London also takes part in the Sam Wanamaker drama school Shakespeare presentation at the Globe, a weekend workshop with the RSC in Stratford, the Spotlight showcase and the BBC Carlton Hobbs radio competition. Students are selected for these by competitive audition within the School.
