Set in Britain during WWII, Imogen Stubb’s heart-warming comedy drama, We Happy Few, follows an all-female theatre troupe, The Artemis Players, as they tour Britain’s schools and village greens in their 1920s Rolls-Royce.
Join this eccentric group of characters as they take Shakespeare on the road to a culture-rationed Britain – their flame of resistance during the darkest days of the war.
Can they manage the personal relationships, cope with hilarious technical disasters and survive the endless drudgery of life on the road? With great warmth and wit our team try to ensure that the show must always go on.
Re-written by Imogen Stubbs for this season of plays and directed by Jonathan Guy Lewis.
