Easter Newsletter 2024

We had a very busy Spring term with showcases and performances as well as a visit to Poland for our MFA students. Read on for some great news about our Carleton Hobbs finalists and the latest Alumni highlights.

We had a fantastic Spring Season of shows and showcases across all three of our graduating cohorts. Congratulations to all of our talented students on their creativity and professionalism and a huge thank you to all our supporters who attended.

The recent Showcases at The Arts Theatre received excellent, positive feedback and allowed us to introduce our graduating students to industry.

Rachel Nicholson, MA 2022 Graduate, plays the recurring role of Kathy Downes in Call The Midwife. She was joined by 2017 Alum, Lauren Cornelius in episode 7.  The much-loved show continues to thrive in its 13th season for the BBC.

Catch 2007 PG Alum, Krupa Pattani, as Saman Kaur in the ITV production: Mr. Bates vs the Post Office. This important piece of work highlights once again the positive impact of the arts. You can read more about it’s incredible impact here. And here’s a link to the show on ITVX.

2021 BA(Hons) Alum, Hayden Mampasi, is accomplishing one of his dreams – playing Romeo at The Globe. You can catch him in the production from now through to the 13th of April.

Alum and current staff member Henry Hereford plays Sir Elton John (or does he…dun, dun, dun) in CSI Vegas @csicbs @cbstvstudios @paramountplus

We love to hear from our graduates and celebrate their work. If you have some news to share, please get in touch.

There’s a bit of a Call the Midwife theme this month (following our two graduates’ appearances on the show), as current DSL students also had the opportunity to meet Sarah Esdaile, a regular director on Call the Midwife, as well as EastEnders and The Chelsea Detective. Sarah gave a talk on Tuesday 27th February. You can read about it here.
