We received the news last week that 2nd year DSL BA Hons student Neda Naghiloo will receive a bursary from The Sir John Gielgud Charitable Trust.
This bursary, which celebrates the life and work of the renowned British actor Sir John Gielgud, is awarded to promising and talented actors and is a welcome cushion of funding for students going into their final year of training. Sir John was the first patron of DSL in the early years of the school so the ongoing support of the trust particularly resonates with us.
We look forward to Neda’s continued growth as a performer and can’t wait to see what her final year with us will bring before she launches her career next year.
Here’s what Neda had to say about this award: A massive thank you for this bursary which feels like a huge comfort blanket for me as I go into my final year. I feel so much more prepared starting school this year and I have the Trust and DSL to thank for that. What a privilege it is to have this kind of support!
DSL strives to support its students by nominating actors for external bursaries who demonstrate exceptional talent and attitude to training and would benefit from additional financial support. You can read more on our Funding page here.
