We are delighted to announce that 2024 Graduate, Adam Hashmi has been cast in the lead role of Amazon Prime’s highly anticipated series ‘Joseph of Egypt’.
The show, which Variety exclusively reported was in development at the streamer in June, is now in production in New Mexico. Joseph of Egypt tells the Old Testament story about Joseph (Hashmi) who, betrayed by jealous brothers, defies all expectations and rises to incredible power in Egypt, second only to Pharaoh. But when his past catches up with him, he is confronted with the ultimate test.
Craig Wright is the writer, executive producer, and showrunner. “The Chosen” creator Dallas Jenkins is executive producing via 5&2 Studios. Brad Pelo, Mark Sourian, Ryan Swanson, and Tyler Thompson also executive produce. ‘Joseph of Egypt’ is a co-production between Amazon MGM Studios and 5&2 Studios, positioning it as a major streaming event for biblical storytelling.
