The 2025 Shakespeare in the Park production of Love’s Labour’s Lost at the Pitzhanger Manor Gardens over the August bank holiday weekend was a tremendous success.
Playing to large audiences with NO RAIN! This fantastic cast and crew delivered fun, laughter drama and a lot of love.
“DSL’s 2025 Shakespeare in the Park project proved to be a hugely rewarding experience for all concerned. The cast featured students from all the varied DSL courses; MA, MFA and all three BA year groups (first, second and third years). The camaraderie within the 23-strong acting company was excellent and the work ethic was outstanding. Hopefully, the joy of the production will live long in everyone’s hearts – both actors and audience alike – as that was our main aim with this production: the celebration of life and love. The fact that we broke box office records for tickets sold and raised thousands of pounds for charity was an added, beautiful bonus!”
Kevin Tomlinson (director of Loves Labours Lost)
Audience response:
“Lovely show, beautifully directed. What a setting! Great to see the students strut their considerable stuff” Helen Schleslinger (actress, RSC,NT, Shakespeare’s Globe)
“I was gripped from beginning to end! It is very rare for me to enjoy a production of a play by Shakespeare without reservation – but this was one such occasion.” David Thacker (professional theatre director)
Also sending huge thanks to the team at Pitzhanger Manor & Gallery for their support and excellent hosting.
This is a wonderful opportunity for our students and graduates, working alongside a brilliant professional team – and a treat for the audiences who also enjoyed the beautiful surroundings.
This is an annual event so check back next summer to see what we have to offer for 2026!
Here are some more shots of the cast in action.
