Wyllie Longmore 1940 – 4th January 2023

Drama Studio London was saddened to hear of the death of Wyllie Longmore on Wednesday 4th January.

Wyllie became Deputy Director of DSL from 1974 to 1976 after joining the faculty as a Voice and Speech tutor in 1972.

Over his time at DSL, he directed many productions including The Lover (1973), Hay Fever (1974), Macbeth (1975) and The Winter’s Tale (1976).

Wyllie has had a long screen career as an actor starring as Dr McKinnon in Coronation Street and the Prime Minister’s advisor in Love Actually. His stage credits include Macbeth (Young Vic Theatre – 1984 & Royal Exchange Theatre – 1988), Richard II (Royal Exchange Theatre -1993), Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom (Royal Exchange Theatre – 2006) and The Merchant of Venice (Octagon Theatre – 2008)
