Drama Studio London-Acting Class

Accredited by Drama UKDrama Studio London is accredited by Drama UK, inspected by Ofsted and validated by Trinity College London.

All of these outside bodies have commented on our family feel, the dedication of our staff and the enjoyment and commitment of our students.

Our aim is to ensure that all graduates are ready for every aspect of the profession. All of our teachers, tutors and directors are working in the industry and in this way we can honestly claim that that our training is for the profession by the profession (visit our Staff/Faculty page). We teach you how to be an actor and not only how to act. This claim is supported by the fact that DSL is owned by 16 of the faculty. In April 2014 the company was bought from the founder by teachers and staff at DSL who passionately believe in what we are doing and what we can give to students – and therefore the profession.

We offer a 1 Year Diploma in Professional Acting for students over 21 and are ready for a more intense and demanding course, and a 2 Year Diploma in Professional acting for those over 19 and would benefit from a slightly longer training.

The training is vocational. 50% will be spent on class work and 50% in scene studies or productions and our timetabling and tutorial system ensure the maximum of 1 to 1 attention.

We also run a Summer School in August which is open to anyone over 18 as well as a 10 Week Adult Evening Acting Course on Tuesday and Thursdays evenings. Those who attend are generally people thinking about going to drama school, amateurs who want to improve their skills as well as those who simply want to know what acting is all about.

Throughout the year we also run a series of Open Days for potential students who want to see what we offer.

Rachel Fenwick

1YR Professional Acting 2015

I really want to thank all the staff for their support, encouragement and patience. I am so glad that DSL works to build your confidence as a unique performer rather than trying to mold you into a particular ideal. I found the small, intimate nature of the school and its vocational training very nurturing and feel the year has been the stepping stone I needed to help me set out on my career as a performer. Many thanks!
