Drama Studio London is accredited by Drama UK, inspected by Ofsted and validated by Trinity College London.
All of these outside bodies have commented on our family feel, the dedication of our staff and the enjoyment and commitment of our students.
Our aim is to ensure that all graduates are ready for every aspect of the profession - to do this we ensure that our teaching covers a wide range of disciplines, is versatile and adaptable, and taught by a diverse faculty. We teach you how to be an actor, not only how to act.
In April 2014 the company was bought from the founder by teachers and staff who passionately believe in what we are doing and what we can give to students – and therefore the profession. Coupled with the fact that all of our teachers, tutors and directors are working in the industry we can honestly claim that our training is for the profession by the profession (visit our Staff/Faculty page).
Our full time course offering consists of our signature course - the 1 Year Diploma in Professional Acting - for students over 21 who are ready for an intense and demanding course, as well as our 2 Year Diploma in Professional acting for those over 19 who would benefit from a slightly longer training. Our training is vocational, not academic: 50% will be spent on class work and 50% in scene studies or productions. Our courses are especially attractive to those who already have a degree and are now looking for a practical, hands on training.
We also have a selection of short courses to choose from, including a 2 week Summer School in August, which is open to anyone over 18, as well as our 10 Week Adult Evening Acting Courses, with programmes available for both beginner and intermediate actors. Those who attend are generally people thinking about going to drama school, amateurs who want to improve their skills or those who simply want to know what acting is all about.
Throughout the year we also run a series of Open Days for potential students who want to see what we offer.
